Minorities in Top Leadership

In an era of increased efforts to diversify corporate leadership, it is tempting to think that minorities would be highly sought after–but this doesn’t appear to be the case. In 2014 minorities comprised 47.64% of workers in Florida Private industry organizations compared to 52.36% for White employees for a difference of 4.72%.

Minorities participated only 4.72% less than White workers in the Florida private industry in 2014; however...

White workers were more than four times as likely as minorities to hold Executive/Senior Level Officials & Managers positions. Relying on conventional approaches has yielded these results. Companies looking to build greater leadership gender and racial/ethnic diversity can find solutions using their own data.
