In an era of increased efforts to diversify corporate leadership, it is tempting to think that women of color would be highly sought after–but this doesn’t appear to be the case. In 2014 women of color were almost equal to White women in Florida Private industry organizations.

Women of Color participated almost evenly with White women in Florida private industry in 2014; however...

White women were more than three times as likely than women of color to hold Executive/Senior Level Officials and Managers positions. Relying on conventional approaches has yielded these results. Companies looking to build greater leadership gender and racial/ethnic diversity can find solutions using their own data.
